Wave sailing is the jewel in the crown of windsurfing. It is dynamic and challenging, and just a whole lot of fun! In the real world, away from places of perfection such as Maui, the gear needs to be a little different. Mainly it needs to be bigger and faster to cope with the gnarly shore break, strong currents and fluky winds of the real world.
2010 is here and I have something new for you!
RRD has a design which will work for you no matter what your particular style is in the waves. With a Twin Fin design that goes back many years before the hype, their highly developed design is available in 5 sizes.
New in the lineup is the Wave Thruster, sure to be the wave riders ultimate tool. Available in 3 sizes.
They also have updated their Freestyle Wave lineup and it is awesome! It feels like a true wave board down the line, but planes up super early and is amazingly comfortable in chop with the super cushioning dual density footpads! Available in 7 sizes and 2 constructions!
The board on the left is 253 x 54.5, it is 79 liters. An awesome fast wave rocker for down the line conditions, and sails below 5.5. The board on the right is 252 x 58, it is 89 liters. Also a fast wave rocker designed for on or side onshore conditions with sails up to 6.2. Both boards are from 2000, shaped by Richard Greene for me. They are the same as the 2001 JP radical wave shapes with the beveled rail bottom design. These boards are both very light, only minor scratches. $399 each including a Vector Maui onshore fin.
I was not sure which page to put this one on! This board can go in the waves with or without a sail! Or take it to the lake, or the sound or the bay and go the distance. Stick a small sail on it and teach a friend. Heck, bring the whole family, it has room! The Mistral Pacifico, including adjustable length paddle and leash....$799
